When vacationing at Walt Disney World, I like to go outside Disney property for shopping, and my favorite destinations are the Disney outlet stores. These stores carry Disney park and resort merchandise, usually last year's stock, at discounts ranging from %5 to 75%. In the past few years, the stores have also began carrying current merchandise, at full price.

There are three Disney outlets (that I know of) in the vicinity of Walt Disney World (Click on the mall name to go to the mall web page).

In addition to the outlets, there is also a wonderful store called MouseSurplus, which carries park and cruise line equipment and fixtures, such as furniture, signage, linens, and cast-member exclusives. I have never been to MouseSurpluses warehouse, but they are conveniently located near Orlando International Airport (map and directions can be found on their web site).

Pr1me Outlets International (formerly Belz Factory Outlet Mall) Character Premier 5401 W. Follow International Drive until it dead-ends at Pr1me Outlets. From I-4 Westbound: Exit 75A (SR 535 Kirkman Rd.) Turn left onto Major Blvd. (entrance to Universal Studios property). Turn left onto Universal Blvd. Go one mile, turn left onto International Drive. Follow International Drive until it dead-ends at Pr1me Outlets. From Walt Disney World: Follow internal WDW signs to I-4 Eastbound, then follow the appropriate directions above. Notes: The Belz outlets were the original Disney outlets in Orlando. Both stores had great bargains on older WDW merchandise and clothing, and later have also carried some current merchandise (at full price, of course). In late 2005, Belz Factory Outlets mall was sold, and has changed it's name to Pr1me Outlets. All of the stores inside operated normally for a time. In summer 2006, Mall Two was demolished to make way for new construction. On August 10, 2007, the new building at Pr1me Outlets held a soft opening, with a grand re-opening ceremony to be held on Friday, August 17. All stores from the old Mall One building have relocated to the new building, and many new high-end stores have also opened in the new building. The mall often has special offers on their web site (click on Special Offers in the navigation bar at the top of the page), and a free preferred chopper club called the 1Club (click on 1Club Savings in the navigation bar), which offers discount coupons to various stores in the mall.

Go under the I-4 overpass, then make the next left onto Vineland Ave. at Little Lake Bryan; proceed 1 mile. Mall is on the right. Notes: This outlet is only a few years old, but has quickly become extrememly popular among WDW vacationers, because it is much closer to WDW than the older Belz stores, and is located in a beautiful new mall full of high-end stores.

Its stock rotates every few days, and its selection is more hit-and-miss than the Disney-owned stores, but the discounts tend to be much deeper than the the Disney-owned stores.
