I've kept this camera and its accessories in excellent shape over the years. It still takes fabulous pictures and has never given me a single bit of trouble. This kit was the perfect beginner's camera for me and could be for someone else who is looking to upgrade form a point and shoot to their first SLR camera. I have owned this camera for about six years. It is in excellent condition and has never had any mechanical, electrical, or optical problems. I found the Rebel G to be an excellent beginner's camera; even though it has a ton of features and settings, the Auto and Program modes do everything for you, and the other partially-manual modes let you ease into the complexities of SLR photography at your own pace.

This is the lens that originally came with my Rebel G. I used it for about a year before I bought a lens with a longer zoom, and using this lens I took some of the best pictures I have ever taken. It takes pics that are razor sharp and have excellent contrast. The lens is lightweight, focuses fast, and is easy and smooth to zoom. It is in excellent condition, with no dents or scratches, and the optics are still perfect.

I bought this battery pack after I had the camera for about a year and it has almost never come off. With this pack you can use AA batteries instead of expensive photo batteries, which has saved me a lot of money over the years and made it possible to get fresh batteries almost anywhere when I needed them. The hand strap on the right side has also come in very handy, keeping the camera secure on my hand when the strap was not around my neck (the battery pack can be used with or without the strap).

The remote switch is perfect for long exposures. Even with the camera on a tripod, pressing the built-in shutter release would vibrate the camera enough to blur a long exposure picture, but with this remote, you can snap the pic from a safe distance without shaking the camera, producing a perfectly stable picture every time.
